Music

At Robinsfield children develop a love of music and performing. Our Music unites us as a community and supports our learning across the curriculum. Children have the opportunity to sing and play a variety of tuned and un-tuned percussion instruments, while exploring music from different cultures and traditions. We also have a choir that takes part in performances externally and across the Federation.

 

In Music your children will be learning about the following topics:

 

Year 1

• Classical Music (dynamics and tempo)
• Vocal and body sounds (by the sea)
• Pitch and Tempo (animals)
• Chanting and Tuned Percussion (space)

 

Year 2

• African Call and Response
• Orchestral Instruments
• Music of the British Isles
• Patterns, symbols and signs (myths and legends)
